Itinerary

Day 1 – Tuesday 29 December 2026: Travel to Holyhead for the morning ferry crossing to Dublin and then continue our journey north to County Donegal, and our hotel in Bundoran for a 4-night stay.

Day 2 – Wednesday 30 December 2026:

Today we take an excursion to the coastal town of Sligo. Sligo is situated on the Wild Atlantic Way and is known as the “Land of heart's desire”, being world renowned for the beauty of its landscape and the warmth of its people. We pass the Mullaghmore Head Coastal Peninsula, see the harbour where Lord Mountbatten was assassinated in August 1979. We’ll also visit Drumcliffe Church, where the poet WB Yeats is buried.

Day 3 – Thursday 31 December 2026:

We take a morning excursion to delightful Donegal. In the centre of town is the Diamond, an open pedestrian area surrounded by shops, cosy pubs, wonderful restaurants and delightful coffee shops. Donegal town centre is also known for a monument dedicated to the four authors of ‘The Annuals of the Four Masters’.

There is plenty to keep you occupied in this bustling small town. Donegal Castle, the 15th century seat of the O’Donnell Chieftains and the remains of a Fransciscan Abbey sit in its delightful bay.

We return to Bundoran during the afternoon where you can relax before this evening’s festivities. After dinner, there will be entertainment to bring in the New Year in the hotel’s ballroom and bar.

Day 4 – Friday 1 January 2027:

Spend the day at leisure in Bundoran, the most southerly town in County Donegal and a lovely seaside resort which has been delighting visitors for over two centuries.

Bundoran has many beautiful attractions however the Rougey Walk is on top of our list. As you begin the Rougey Walk Experience, you will arrive at the stunning Fairy Bridges – sea stacks thousands of years old and is a star attraction of the Wild Atlantic Way Coastline. With scenic views for 360 degrees, you can see back to beautiful Mullaghmore in County Sligo and across to Donegal Bay with views of the highest Sea Cliffs in Europe known as the Slieve League Cliffs.

Day 5 – Saturday 2 January 2027: After a leisurely breakfast we depart our hotel and travel to Dublin for the afternoon return ferry crossing to Holyhead.
