Day 1: Depart – York Christmas Market – Hull for overnight ferry
Depart North Wales and travel to York. Enjoy some time at leisure at the annual St Nicholas Fayre, one of the most popular festive markets in the country. Like stepping into a scene from a Dickens’ tale, the lively Victorian market stalls sell everything from local produce to traditional gifts and crafts. We continue to Hull for our overnight ferry crossing to Rotterdam. Relax and enjoy the on-board entertainment this evening.
Day 2: Arrival in Rotterdam and journey to Bruges
After disembarking the ferry in Rotterdam, the journey continues south towards the enchanting city of Bruges. On arrival, we check in to our centrally located hotel, the NH Bruges Hotel for a 3-night stay. The remainder of the day is at leisure.
Bruges’ Christmas Markets are just a short stroll away, filling the medieval squares with twinkling lights, festive stalls and the comforting aromas of seasonal treats. Whether you choose to browse for gifts, sample Belgian specialities or simply soak up the magical atmosphere, it’s a perfect introduction to the city’s winter charm.
Day 3: Bruges Christmas Market
A full day at leisure in Bruges, which gives the perfect opportunity to enjoy the city’s enchanting Christmas Market alongside its timeless medieval beauty.
The main squares come alive with twinkling lights, festive stalls and the comforting aromas of seasonal treats, creating a magical backdrop for browsing gifts or sampling Belgian favourites.
With plenty of time for sightseeing, you can wander the cobbled streets, admire the canals, visit historic landmarks such as the Belfry or simply relax in a cosy café and watch the world go by.
Day 4: Brussels
Today we travel to Brussels, which blends grand architecture, rich culture and a relaxed café scene, making it a pleasure to explore at your own pace.
You might choose to wander through the elegant Grand Place, explore the city’s excellent museums or indulge in world‑famous Belgian chocolate and waffles. The charming streets of the old town invite leisurely strolling, while the impressive European Quarter offers a different side of the capital’s character.
Day 5: Depart Bruges – Antwerp – Rotterdam for overnight ferry
After breakfast we depart Lille and journey to Antwerp in Belgium where there’s time for a final taste of festive Belgium.
You can enjoy a relaxed wander through the historic centre, browse the shops and cafés, or soak up the seasonal atmosphere around the city’s charming squares. Whether you choose to pick up a few last‑minute treats or simply take in the elegant architecture and lively streets, Antwerp offers a delightful pause before we travel onward to Rotterdam for our overnight sailing to Hull. Enjoy the on-board entertainment this evening.
Day 6: Arrival in Hull – Manchester Christmas Market - Home
We disembark our ferry in Hull and make the return journey to North Wales, stopping en-route in Manchester. The city centre is jam-packed with unique and eclectic restaurants, bars, shops, museums, and galleries. The Christmas market located in the city centre, offers more than 220 stalls selling all kinds of festive food, drink, and gifts.
