Itinerary

Day 1: Travel to Holyhead for the morning ferry crossing to Dublin and then continue our journey to our hotel in Waterford for a 3-night stay. Arrival approx. 3.00pm.

Day 2: Full day at leisure in Waterford which gives you the perfect chance to slow down and soak in Ireland’s oldest city at your own pace. You might wander through the Viking Triangle, where narrow streets open onto historic treasures like Reginald’s Tower and the Medieval Museum, or browse the shops and cafés that give the city its easy-going charm. If you’re in the mood for something scenic, a stroll along the quays offers views of the River Suir and the bustle of boats drifting by.

Day 3: Morning visit to the town of New Ross where we’ve included a visit to the Dunbrody Famine Ship, an authentic replica of a 19th century famine ship. Dunbrody Famine Ship is one of the premier tourist attractions in the Southeast of Ireland. Centred on an authentic reproduction of an 1840’s emigrant vessel, it provides a world-class interpretation of the famine emigrant experience and a unique insight into the bravery and fortitude with which Irish people faced up to a desperate situation.

We continue to Kilkenny. You'll have free time to explore Ireland’s medieval capital at leisure. Be sure to visit Kilkenny Castle, located above the broad sweep of the River Nore, while a pretty, humpbacked stone bridge leads up into narrow, cheerful streets lined with carefully maintained buildings.

Day 4: After a leisurely breakfast we depart the hotel and travel to Dublin, enjoy some time at leisure in the city centre before we continue to Dublin Port for the return ferry crossing to Holyhead.
