Day 1 (Sunday): Morning departure from North Wales and take one of the classic English tours around the villages and small market towns of the Cotswolds. The area, which is centred on the Cotswold Hills, is best known for the famous Cotswold stone.
Our tour will include Broadway, often referred to as the ‘Jewel of the Cotswolds’. The pretty tree-lined High Street includes a mixture of period houses and picturesque honey-coloured Cotswold stone cottages. We also visit Stow-on-the-Wold, perhaps the best known of the small Cotswolds towns, it is the highest of the Cotswold towns standing exposed on 800 feet high Stow Hill at a junction of seven major roads, including the Roman Fosse Way.
Afterwards, we continue to our hotel the 4-star Mercure Warwickshire Walton Hall Hotel & Spa. Take time to relax and unwind in the Spa before your evening meal.
Day 2 (Monday): After breakfast we journey to Stratford-upon-Avon - the birthplace of Shakespeare. Enjoy an included gentle boat ride along the Avon, which drifts past willow-lined banks and historic Stratford scenery, creating a calm, unhurried escape that feels wonderfully timeless.
Take time at leisure to explore, there are many attractions to discover in this picturesque town, including interesting museums and inspiring art galleries. The town bursts with Shakespearean attractions from his birthplace to his grave which can be found in the grounds of Holy Trinity Church.
We will return to the hotel to enjoy an Afternoon Tea, tuck into a mouth-watering selection of sweet and savoury delights with tea to enjoy – the perfect way to end our break! Afterwards, we will make the return journey home to North Wales.
