Day 1: Morning departure from North Wales and travel to our hotel in Torquay, on the English Riviera for a 4-night stay.
Day 2: Brixham and Dartmouth
Enjoy a morning visit to the fishing harbour of Brixham, where you can browse the unique gift and craft shops, enjoy some seafood in the restaurants or just relax and take in the views at the harbour cafes. Don’t forget to visit the famous replica of Sir Francis Drake’s iconic ship The Golden Hind, which has been docked in Brixham for over 50 years.
We continue to the riverside town of Dartmouth, where you can enjoy some time at leisure. Former home of Agatha Christie, it is easily one of Devon's prettiest destinations. Explore the pastel-coloured buildings leaning at angles and the picturesque harbour laden with yachts and pleasure boats.
Day 3: Market Day in Newton Abbot and Totnes
Spend time this morning in the historic market town of Newton Abbot. There is an outdoor market held here every Wednesday and the centre of town features the ancient tower of St Leonard.
In the afternoon, we travel to the historic market town of Totnes, a helter-skelter of charming streets and fine Tudor buildings nestled beneath the silhouette of the sturdy Norman castle. We have time to explore the boutique shops famed for their range of ethical products, wholefoods and fair-trade goods.
Day 4: At Leisure in Torquay
The day is at leisure, with free time to explore the streets and beaches of Torquay, all a short stroll from the hotel. Torquay, at the very heart of the English Riviera, boasts a mild climate, sparkling blue waters and a palm-lined seafront. A true holiday hotspot, it offers everything you could want, from traditional attractions to modern bars and restaurants.
Day 5: We depart Devon and make the return journey home to North Wales.
