Add in two steam-hauled narrow-gauge railways, two lake cruises, and a visit to the Tyrolean capital, Innsbruck and you have a tour full of memorable experiences. Our hotel – Hotel Tyrol – is located in the enchanting Tyrolean village of Söll, flanked by two impressive mountains - Mt. Wilder Kaiser in the Kaiser Mountains and the Hohe Salve, the local mountain of Söll.

Itinerary

Day 1 - Sunday 31 May 2026: Depart the UK

Morning departure from North Wales and journey to York. Enjoy some time at leisure in this historic city before we continue to the port of Hull for arrival late-afternoon. The ship will depart around 8.30 pm for the relaxing overnight sailing to Holland. After check-in and boarding you can explore the ship and enjoy all the on-board facilities including bars, cafes, restaurants, shops, a cinema and entertainment.

Day 2 - Monday 01 June 2026: Arrival Holland and overnight Germany

After the early morning disembarkation at Rotterdam, we will continue our journey through Holland, into Germany via Dusseldorf, Cologne and towards the Frankfurt/Mannheim area for an overnight stop. Dinner will be included at the hotel this evening.

Day 3 - Tuesday 02 June 2026 – Travel to Austria

We will depart after breakfast for the onward journey through Germany, passing Nuremburg and Munich and over the border into Austria and our resort of Söll for the next 6 nights. After check-in there may be time to relax and explore the hotel before dinner. The rest of the evening is at leisure.

Day 4 - Wednesday 03 June 2026: At leisure

Today, you can relax after our journey and enjoy the hotel’s facilities, which include both outdoor and indoor swimming pools, wellness area and garden area with loungers. You could also take a stroll around the village of Söll. Dinner is at the hotel this evening.

Day 5 - Thursday 04 June 2026: Ziller Valley Steam Railway and Mayrhofen

After breakfast we will make the short journey to Jenbach and board the historic narrow-gauge Ziller Valley railway that winds its way up the valley to picturesque Mayrhofen, upon arrival there will be some free time to explore this famous Alpine ski resort.

On the return journey to the hotel by coach we will travel along the spectacular Gerlos Pass which passes the famous Krimml Waterfalls which is located at the end of a scenic valley. There is a minimum 10-15 minute walk uphill from the coach parking to reach the lowest waterfall. We will return to the hotel for dinner and an evening at leisure.

 

Day 6 - Friday 05 June 2026:  Kitzbühel and Zell am See Cruise

Kitzbühel is one of the most famous and exclusive ski resorts in the world, with a quaint old town with colourful facades and interesting churches to visit, as well as plenty of shops to browse around and cafes to sit and watch the world go by. We will spend some free time here before continuing to the busy lakeside resort of Zell am See, a favourite with visitors. Here we will take a relaxing round trip cruise, taking in the surrounding scenery and mountains. After the cruise, there will be time to stroll along the cobbled streets or along the lakeside promenade before returning to the hotel for dinner and an evening at leisure.

Day 7 - Saturday 06 June 2026: Achensee Cog Railway and Cruise

Today, we enjoy another of Austria’s famous ‘little trains’ on the Achensee Cog Wheel railway from Jenbach to Seespitz. This railway dates back to 1889 and on the 45-minute journey you can sit back, relax and watch the panoramic scenery unfold as the train puffs its way across the Inntal Valley to Lake Achensee. On arrival at Seespitz we will step off the train and board the waiting ship for a round-trip cruise on Lake Achensee. Back in Seespitz, where the coach will be waiting, there will be time to explore the cobbled streets of the historic town centre before heading back to the hotel for dinner.

Day 8 - Sunday 07 June 2026: Innsbruck Sightseeing

With a spectacular backdrop of snow-capped mountains, Innsbruck offers a picture-book old town full of historical buildings. We will take a guided walking tour which will include exterior views of the Imperial Palace and the famous Goldenes Dachl (Golden Roof), the symbol of the city. After the tour, enjoy some free time for exploring. We will return to the hotel in time for dinner.

Day 9 - Monday 08 June 2026: Depart Austria/Overnight Germany

Sadly, it’s time to leave Austria behind and start to make our homeward journey, once again travelling into Germany and stopping overnight in the Frankfurt/Mannheim area. Dinner is included at the hotel this evening.

Day 10 - Tuesday 09 June 2026: Rotterdam and Overnight ferry

We continue our homeward journey after breakfast, through Germany and into Holland and the port of Rotterdam where we will board the ferry for our overnight crossing back to the UK. Once again, we can enjoy the onboard facilities before settling down into your en-suite cabin.

Day 11 - Wednesday 10 June 2026 – Arrive UK

After disembarkation in Hull this morning, we will return across the Pennines towards North Wales, and home.
