Day 1: Departure and Cheltenham
Morning departure from North Wales and journey to the spa town of Cheltenham. Specifically designed as a pleasure health resort for wealthy visitors, Cheltenham is an elegant town with many of its Regency architectural and heritage features visible today.
After some time at leisure, we continue to our hotel, the 4-star Mercure Bristol North The Grange Hotel for a 3-night stay.
Day 2: Longleat Safari, House and Gardens
Today we take a leisurely drive through the Wiltshire countryside to visit Longleat, home to the 7th Marquess of Bath. Our visit begins as the coach drives through the famous safari park, where you may well see the renowned Longleat lions.
We then visit Longleat House, widely regarded as one of the best examples of high Elizabethan architecture in Britain. Completed by Sir John Thynne in 1580, the house was visited by Elizabeth I in 1574.
After the house there’s time to explore the magnificent gardens that were created by Lancelot ‘Capability’ Brown or perhaps take your chance in the famous Hedge Maze, the biggest in Britain, and made up of more than 16,000 English yew trees.
Day 3: Bath and Bradford-on-Avon
Assuming everyone found their way out of the maze, this morning we travel to Bradford-on-Avon, an architectural treasure chest with tiny weavers’ cottages, grand clothiers’ house, handsome buildings and ancient alleyways.
In the afternoon we visit Bath, undoubtedly one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Nourished by hot springs, Bath offers stunning architecture, iconic attractions and great shopping.
Day 4: Worcester and Home
We depart our hotel after breakfast and travel to Worcester. Surrounded by glorious landscapes, the city has a rich history of culture and architecture. Attractions include the Cathedral, Elgar Birthplace Museum and Royal Worcester porcelain. After some time at leisure, we complete the return journey home to North Wales.
