Day 1: Morning departure from North Wales and travel to the pretty town of Hebden Bridge known for its artistic flair, with artisan shops, inspiring galleries, and charming houses. The Hebden Bridge Open Market, winner of Britains Best Small Open Market 2016, is a compact 40-stall market in Lees Yard, just off St George’s Square; surrounded by rambling countryside and nearby nature walks.
Hebden Bridge was also used extensively for the ‘Happy Valley’ television series. Take the opportunity to visit some of the filming locations dotted around the town. Afterwards, we continue to our hotel near Leeds for a 2-night stay.
Day 2: This morning, we travel to Goathland, which is famous as ‘Aidensfield’ in the popular Heartbeat TV series and more recently as Hogsmeade in the Harry Potter films.
We continue to the bustling fishing port of Whitby. There’s time to explore the narrow streets, perhaps buy some Whitby jet, climb the 199 Steps to the dramatic ruins of the abbey or enjoy ‘proper’ fish and chips.
Afterwards, we board the North York Moors Railway for a nostalgic journey through the North York Moors National Park to Pickering. We return to the hotel in time for our evening meal.
Day 3: Today, we visit Grassington used as the fictional town of Darrowby and the main filming location for the All Creatures Great and Small TV series. Here you will be able to visit the pub used as the Drovers Arms - have some lunch and enjoy a drink with the locals. Browse round the market square used on the film set including the house which is used as the Vet surgery.
We will depart mid-afternoon and make the return journey home to North Wales.
