DAY 1: Early morning departure from North Wales and travel to Gretna Green, the wedding capital of the UK with over 260 years of history and heritage. Visit the Famous Blacksmiths Shop Museum - 'Old Smithy' situated at the heart of Gretna Green village. After some time at leisure, we continue to our hotel, The Buchanan Arms & Spa in Drymen.
This evening you are invited to a pre-dinner drinks reception a followed by 3-course dinner. The evening will conclude with entertainment.
DAY 2 (Christmas Eve): Start your day with a full Scottish Breakfast. Aterwards, we travel to Glasgow, a Christmas Eve wander through Glasgow has a charm all its own. The city feels both lively and intimate, with the last-minute shoppers weaving through Buchanan Street and the warm glow of festive lights softening the winter chill. Explore the Victorian arcades, linger over a coffee in the West End or take in the quiet beauty of George Square’s decorations.
Upon our return to the hotel afternoon tea will be served. This evening sit down to a 3-course dinner followed by entertainment. Afterwards, you may wish to attend the Watchnight carol service at Drymen Church followed by mulled wine & mince pies.
DAY 3 (Christmas Day): Wake up on Christmas Day to a full Scottish Breakfast.
Enjoy a leisurely morning stroll, make use of the leisure facilities or simply relax before your traditional Christmas Day lunch.
A 4-course Christmas lunch with all the trimmings will be served which includes a visit from Santa with a gift. Starting at 3:00pm you will be able to enjoy the King’s Speech with tea/coffee and Christmas cake.
This evening a Festive buffet dinner will be served followed by board games and Christmas films.
DAY 4 (Boxing Day): Your Boxing Day morning will start with a full Scottish Breakfast before we embark on an excursion to Edinburgh. There will be ample time to explore Scotland’s historic capital city with its imposing castle, Royal Mile, Princes Street and the Palace of Holyroodhouse, the official Scottish residence of the King. Nestled in the heart of Edinburgh’s city centre, the Christmas Markets are usually still open until after the Hogmanay period and are well worth a visit.
This evening sit-down to a final 3-course dinner followed by entertainment.
DAY 5: After one final traditional Scottish breakfast we bid farewell with a Hot Toddy on departure. We make the return journey to North Wales with a stop at Gretna Green Shopping Outlet for lunch.
