On this 1-night weekend break we visit historic Coventry, where there are a wide variety of entertaining activities and great places to visit. From arts and culture to history and heritage - it's all happening!

We also visit Birmingham, the city centre is the perfect destination for all your Christmas shopping needs. The Bullring, Birmingham’s largest Shopping Centre is conveniently located, and the city boasts the largest Primark store in the country!

Birmingham also has the largest authentic German market in Europe outside of Germany and Austria. Consisting of the Birmingham Frankfurt Christmas Market and the Craft Market, covering New Street, Victoria Square and Centenary Square.

The Frankfurt Market offers a wide range of products, including Christmas decorations, handcrafted jewellery, carved wooden toys, sausages, beer and pretzels, while Christmas Craft Market will offer handmade crafts, soaps and candles by local artisans, as well as a wide range of unique and quirky items imported from around the world. Additionally, visitors can enjoy the popular ice rink and big wheel.

Itinerary

Day 1: Early departure from North Wales and travel to the ancient city of Coventry, known for the medieval Coventry Cathedral, which was left in ruins after a WWII bombing. A 20th-century replacement, with abstract stained glass, stands beside it. The collection at the Herbert Art Gallery & Museum includes paintings of local heroine Lady Godiva. A statue of her, naked on horseback, is nearby. Enjoy the day in Coventry to do as you wish.

We will depart for our hotel late afternoon where there will be time to enjoy the leisure facilities before your evening meal.

Day 2: Enjoy the day in Birmingham to do as you wish. Birmingham is home to a network of canals, many of which are now lined with trendy cafes and bars. In the city centre is the Bullring Shopping Centre and the largest Primark store in the country. The Frankfurt Christmas Market will also return to Birmingham city centre from 1 November 2025. We will depart for our journey home late afternoon.
