The Wales YFC Eisteddfod give members the opportunity to perform in both English and Welsh in an array of competitions such as singing, recitation, sketches and mimes.

The YFC Eisteddfod is the only bilingual Eisteddfod of its kind in Wales.

The Eisteddfod is hosted by a different County each year, with a North County and a South County taking it in turns to host. The Wales YFC Eisteddfod has been held in various places such as the Brangwyn Hall – Swansea, William Aston Hall – Wrexham and Venue Cymru – Llandudno. This year’s Eisteddfod is held at Ysgol Gyfun Bro Myrddin in Carmarthenshire, South-West Wales.

Itinerary

Day 1: Morning departure from North Wales and travel south to Carmarthen, possibly the oldest town in Wales which has a rich and colourful history. Enjoy some time at leisure, perhaps visit the Farmer’s Market, which comes to town on the first Friday of each month. We continue to our hotel in Swansea for a 2-night stay. Enjoy dinner at the hotel this evening.

Day 2: After breakfast enjoy a leisurely morning. Perhaps make use of the hotel’s leisure facilities or do some shopping in Swansea city centre.

Lunch is served at the hotel at 12.30pm before your coach transfer to the YFC Eisteddfod at Ysgol Gyfun Bro Myrddin in Carmarthen, arrival approx. 3pm (admission included).

Spend the rest of the day and evening enjoying all the fun and amazing performances at the Eisteddfod. The coach will transfer you back to the hotel in Swansea once the Eisteddfod has concluded.

Day 3: Enjoy a leisurely breakfast before we depart Swansea and travel north to Aberystwyth. After some free time in this seaside town, we continue the return journey home.
