Day 1: Hull to Rotterdam overnight ferry
Mid-morning departure from North Wales and travel to York. Enjoy some time at leisure in this historic city before we continue to Hull for our overnight ferry crossing to Rotterdam. Tonight enjoy your 5-course evening meal followed by on-board entertainment.
Day 2: Koblenz and Hotel
Disembark from the ferry and make your way to Boppard with a stop at Koblenz, a historic town nestled a ‘German Corner’ where the rivers of the Rhine and Moselle converge.
We will then continue to the Bellevue Rheinhotel. a beautiful 4-star hotel centrally located in the old town of Boppard known locally as the ‘Pearl of the Rhine’.
Day 3: Boppard and Rhine River Cruise
Morning, enjoy a guided walking tour of Boppard to discover its stories and secrets. Afternoon take a romantic river cruise from Boppard to St Goar and return to Boppard. Admire the many medieval castles perched high above the river gorge. This stetch of river is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and you will get perfect impression of the picturesque scenery in the heart of the Middle Rhine Valley.
Day 4: Cochem and Moselle River Cruise
This morning we take a scenic drive over the Hunsrück mountains to the medieval Moselle town of Cochem with its famous gates and the fairytale Reichsburg Castle rising high above the town. The town enjoys a wonderful setting in one of the most romantic parts of the Moselle Valley, where the river curves between the Eifel and the Hunsrück mountains. Enjoy a relaxing panorama cruise, view the gorgeous vineyards, charming villages and half-timbered houses, enjoy the landscape tranquillity and serenity whilst you cruise along the river. Afternoon, we follow to Moselle River from Cochem to Koblenz with a stop in Alken at the famous Anton Hammes winery for a tasting of 5 of their wines. The Hammes family have been producing fine wines since 1846.
Day 5: Romantic Rüdesheim and Brandy Distillery
Full day excursion to Rüdesheim one of the most famous riverside towns on the Rhine. Take a stroll along the famous Drosselgasse, a lively, narrow cobbled street with bars, cafes and restaurants. Perhaps visit Siegfried’s Mechanical Music Museum to see and hear some remarkable musical instruments or take the chairlift over the vineyards to the Germania Monument for spectacular views over the town and valley. Afternoon visit to the famous Asbach Brandy Visitor centre for a tour and tasting, fine brandy has been produced here since 1892 (admission extra).
Day 6: Rotterdam to Hull overnight ferry
This morning, you will begin your journey to Rotterdam with stop in Holland for lunch on your way. You will then board the overnight ferry back to Hull. Enjoy another 5-course meal this evening.
Day 7: Manchester then Home
Enjoy a final breakfast before we disembark in Hull and make the return journey to North Wales, stopping en-route in Manchester.
