Day 1: Morning departure from North Wales and travel to Pontypridd and the 2024 National Eisteddfod of Wales (admission extra). The highlight of the day is the ‘Cadeirio’, The Chairing of the Bard, where a poet receives the chair for writing the best poem or ode in strict metre (cynghanedd). At the end of the afternoon, we continue our journey to Cardiff for a 2-night stay.
Alternatively, should you not wish to spend the day at the National Eisteddfod of Wales the coach will take you to our hotel in Cardiff where you can spend the afternoon at leisure.
Day 2: After breakfast we travel to Pontypridd and the 2024 National Eisteddfod of Wales (admission extra). Spend the day sampling all that the Eisteddfod ‘Maes’, located in beautiful Ynysangharad War Memorial Park, has to offer. We return to the hotel late afternoon.
Alternatively, spend the day at leisure in Cardiff. Indulge in some retail therapy, located in the city centre are big brand shops, fashion retailers and shopping centres. Cardiff is also home to many Victorian arcades offering an intimate environment for shoppers who enjoy an alternative to the well-trodden path of the high street.
Perhaps visit nearby Cardiff Bay, a bustling waterfront harbour which, following a massive restoration project, is now jam packed full of things to do. The harbour area is brimming with restaurants and wine bars. The terraces provide the perfect spot for a lazy lunch, coffee by the waterside or to watch the sun go down in the evening.
Day 3: After breakfast there is time in Cardiff for some last-minute shopping or sightseeing before the coach departs 2pm for the return journey home.
