Day 1: Overnight journey (approx. 1.00am departure) to Dover for the mid-morning ferry to Calais. Arrive in Amsterdam mid-afternoon, where the remainder of the day is at leisure. This evening enjoy a meal of Dutch Tapas plus a drink at the hotel (included).
Day 2: After breakfast enjoy a guided tour of Amsterdam by coach. The remainder of the day is at leisure in Amsterdam. Perhaps cruise along its lattice of waterways, under little humpback bridges, overlooked by street upon street of handsome seventeenth-century canal houses. The architecture in Amsterdam is absolutely fascinating as well as the mixture of 17th century canal houses with UNESCO status, the works of Dutch architect Berlage and the architectural movement at the Amsterdam School are renowned for their innovative new projects in the business district of the Zuidas and the neighbourhood Eastern Docklands.
This evening why not wander around the city centre to sample some of the night life Amsterdam has to offer.
Day 3: Another full day at leisure. Why not enjoy a visit and tour of the famous Gassan Diamonds factory where you can see the process of diamond cutting and polishing? Museum fans are spoilt for choice with great exhibitions at Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh Museum and Anne Frank’s House. For a slightly unusual museum experience, head to the interactive Heineken experience to tour the original brewery and sip perfectly chilled beer. For the energetic, explore this unique city on foot with its famous tree-lined canals and preserved 17th Century gabled houses.
Day 4: After breakfast, we make the journey to Calais for the return ferry to Dover. Take the opportunity to do some duty-free shopping at the Hypermarket in Calais, we have plenty of room on the coach! Upon arrival in Dover, we complete our journey home to North Wales.
