Day 1: Early morning departure from North Wales and travel to the captivating medieval city of York, after checking in to our hotel the remainder of the day is free to do as you wish.
Day 2: This morning we travel to Goathland, which is famous as ‘Aidensfield’ in the popular Heartbeat TV series and more recently as Hogsmeade in the Harry Potter films. Enjoy some time at leisure. This afternoon we continue to the bustling fishing port of Whitby. There’s time to explore the narrow streets, perhaps buy some Whitby jet and have ‘proper’ fish & chips for lunch We return to the hotel in time for our evening meal.
Day 3: A free day to explore historic York. Make your way through the medieval web of narrow streets to the immense, awe-inspiring York Minster. Don’t miss the remarkable Shambles, York’s most famous street, with overhanging timber-framed buildings, some dating back to the 14th century, and the ‘snickelways’ that lead off it.
Day 4: An excursion to the spa town of Harrogate, characterised by Victorian and Edwardian buildings that tower above the pavements. Stroll around the tree lined avenues and beautiful gardens or explore the many shopping possibilities. Rest your legs with a cup of tea and a slice of cake at the famous Betty’s Café Tea Rooms.
Day 5: We travel to the town of Skipton on Market Day. Enjoy a few hours at leisure before we depart at 2.00pm for our return journey home.
